Chapter 291 Letting Charlotte Stay in Gredax
Madelyn coldly said, "No need!"
When she intended to leave the car, Benjamin blocked her way, deeply stared at her, and said, "It was my fault last time. I shouldn't have treated you like that. Madelyn, don't give me the silence treatment or say those harsh words, OK?"
Madelyn smiled, looked at him, and softly said, "Charlotte went to meet me and said she wanted to stay by your side as your mistress! It was disgusting! If you hadn't personally gone there to save her or looked after her in the hospital for three days, she would not have had the confidence to challenge me!"
It was all his fault!
Benjamin was startled to hear this. He had not expected Charlotte to be so clueless. He blocked her number after paying for her medical expenses and confirming her life was not in danger. He had not contacted her since then.
He lowered his voice and said, "I'll take care of it, OK?"
Madelyn lowered her eyes and smiled, "No need! I'll handle it!"
Benjamin thought she would scold Charlotte and drive her away, so he decided not to interfere.
Something had touched him tonight, so he wanted to sleep with Madelyn and said in a muffled voice, "Can you sleep in my bedroom? I won't do anything that will offend you!"
Madelyn was not interested. She also had sexual desire but could not convince herself to forgive him. So, she rejected him.
Under the pale moonlight, Benjamin leaned over to kiss her. But she shrank back, intending to get out of the car from the other side. But he quickly followed her into the car, grabbed her arm, and pressed her into the back seat, trying to kiss her.
Suddenly, there was a cough outside the car. Then, Alexander asked, "What are you doing, Benjamin?"
Benjamin stiffened. Looking down at Madelyn in his arms, he found it hard to suppress his desire.
Madelyn's slender throat tightened when she hoarsely said, "Dad, let me take a walk with you!"
Alexander waited outside, so Benjamin let go of her. Then, she fixed her clothes and got out of the car.
Alexander knew the young couple were quarreling at a glance, so he smiled, "Maddie, let's go for a walk!"
Madelyn put on her coat and followed behind him. They had a good relationship and were as close as father and daughter. After walking for a while, he said gently and lovingly, "We know you have suffered a lot. Benjamin's temper used to be bad. It was hard for us to discipline him in the past!"
Madelyn said in a nasal voice, "Yes, it's hard!"
Alexander patted her shoulder and continued walking with her. He knew she was unhappy. She had a son and a daughter, so she did not need to stay here. She endured the aggrieves because she and Benjamin used to be an affectionate couple.
...
Madelyn was leading a boring life. When she was playing the piano in the living room in the evening one week later, the housekeeper came over and told her Faith came to meet her.
Madelyn flatly said, "Please let her in."
Faith was Charlotte's friend. And it was the second time she had come to the Clarks' mansion. She didn't dare to sit down. So, she stood beside Madelyn and cautiously said, "Mrs. Clark, please spare Charlotte's life!"
Madelyn continued to play the piano.
Faith said in a sobbing voice, "Charlotte was expelled from school. Your bodyguards are following her all the time. She feels so suffocated that she almost goes crazy! Mrs. Clark, Charlotte is a pitiful person. I beg you to let her go!"
Madelyn stopped playing the piano, looked at her, and smiled, "Tell her I will not pursue the matter if she returns to her hometown!"
Faith's face turned pale when she softly said, "She has made painstaking efforts to pass the exam and come to Gredax. She can't go back. Otherwise, her life would be ruined! Please show some mercy!"
Madelyn sneered, "She can't blame me. After all, she has done such a shameless thing."
When Faith pleaded for mercy, Madelyn heard footsteps at the entrance.
It was Benjamin!
He looked unhappy, but Madelyn didn't know how much he had heard.
Faith also begged him, but he asked her to leave without agreeing.
