The Billionaire and His PA novel Chapter 63

He moved past Cassie into the house before he could change his mind on her offer.

Cassie was about to follow after him but she saw the pizza guy approaching and decided to wait outside until she got to her. As she waited for him to draw closer, she began to ponder on just how shitty the logistics of her plan were. The house only had two bedrooms – one for the twins and the other for her. Where would Felix sleep? The couch? He didn’t look like the kind of person that had ever slept on anything other than a Californian king sized bed. He wouldn’t even fit on her tiny couch. Then there was the matter of the clothes that he would wear. She could run his clothes in the laundry overnight so that he could wear them in the morning but what would wear in the meantime? She still had some of her dad’s old clothes but they would only barely fit Felix. And then there was the awkwardness surrounding her housing her boss. How would he react? How was she supposed to react? What if he said something offensive, like passing negative comments on the ink stains on the wall that she still hadn’t gotten around to removing?

After she paid the pizza guy, she slipped into the house to find that Felix was seated in front of the television dutifully listening to the twins as they explained every action the characters in the movie took. They were building a blanket fort around him. Cassie set the box of pizza down. Maybe things wouldn’t be as dreadful as she thought.

When Cassie woke up the next morning to another body in her bed, she panicked and rolled out of bed in shock.

“Are you okay?” Isabel asked, frowning down at her. She had been scrolling through her phone and had been more than shocked when Cassie had jolted awake and rolled out of bed.

Cassie ran her hand through her hair. “Yeah. I’m fine.” She had forgotten that Isabel had stayed over and had thought up the worst possible scenario; of Felix being the other person in her bed. Her memories of the previous night ended with eating overly greasy pizza while listening to Lily and Aaron’s never-ending chatter.

“Come on. It’s time to say good morning to your hot boss.” Isabel teased.

“Don’t you fucking dare!” Cassie warned, shrugging on a sweater. It might not have been a cold morning but she wasn’t going to put her breasts on full display. Again. “He is not my ‘hot’ boss. He is just my boss.”

“You’re only saying that because you went to bed early last night. After the twins dozed off, I offered to run his work clothes through the laundry and then he took his shirt off in front of me. I’m telling you Cassie, if you’d have seen his abs, you’d be agreeing with me. He eventually swaddled himself in a blanket and went to bed but I cherished every second that I got to see those gorgeous abs. I had to fish out your mum’s maternity pants for him to wear overnight. They’ll probably be too short and wide but they were his only option.”

She had started to pull on proper pants when she heard the sharp sound of laughter coming from outside her room. “What’s going on out there?”

“You’re the last person to wake up. Felix is keeping the twins company. I think they’re trying to scrub the ink stain from the walls.”

“You’re joking.” Cassie said, only to leave her room to find that Isabel hadn’t been joking.

Felix was holding Aaron up so that he could reach the higher parts of the wall and Lily was alternating between scrubbing the lower part of the wall and making bubbles in the sudsy water. The part of the scene that caught her eye the most was the fact that Felix was shirtless. From waist down, he was dressed in beige cargo pants which he had to use his belt on to prevent them from slipping but his torso was completely bare. In her opinion, Isabel had downplayed his abs. They were beyond gorgeous.

“Hello guys.” She said trying to look anywhere but Felix’s abs.

“Hi Cassie.” Aaron greeted. “He’s taking us out for ice cream this afternoon.” He said, patting Felix’s head with his tiny foam-covered hands.

“That’s great news.” Cassie said, replicating his enthusiasm. “Thank you, Mr. Callahan.”

“We're getting ice cream together.” Felix stated. “I think you can call me by my first name now.”

“Thank you, Felix.”
