A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 315

Matilda sat on the couch in her living room, her face buried in her hands. She had finally left the studio, but it felt as if she had lost something important. Affection, it seemed, could take root and grow unnoticed. They had been kind to her, and now she found herself unwilling to leave them behind.

That night, Matilda cleared out the entire house. She listed it for sale online. Logan, dragging a small backpack, followed her closely. He watched as she opened the trunk of the car and began loading their most valuable belongings. "Mommy, are we moving?" he asked.

"Yes," Matilda replied, gently touching Logan's face. "We're moving. We won't be staying in Sea City anymore."

"Where are we going then?"

"How about we go see Aunt Chloe? Does that sound good?"

Taking Logan's backpack, she said, "Go sit in the car. We'll leave in a bit."

After packing everything, Matilda closed the trunk and was about to walk around to the driver's side when someone appeared out of nowhere—

"Where are you off to?"

It was Adrian, dressed in a suit, likely just back from some formal event. His well-groomed appearance was undeniably handsome. Matilda hadn't expected to run into Adrian right now, especially not right outside her building. It seemed she couldn't avoid him.

He fixed his gaze on Matilda. "You're moving?"

She glanced at him, her voice somewhat indifferent, "Yes."

"Where to all of a sudden? Matilda..." Adrian had just gotten closer to Matilda and didn't want to part ways with her so soon.

But Matilda pulled her hand away, offering Adrian a smile, "I can't stand this city anymore. From now on, wherever fate takes the Archer family."

Her words made it clear she had no intention of sharing her future plans with him.
