A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 344

Rumors had it that Mr. Boyd was harboring a long-lost love. Some whispered she had passed away, while others believed she was simply shielded from the world by his all-encompassing protection. The truth of the matter remained a mystery...

The receptionist's heart pounded as she escorted Yvan inside, feeling like she'd hit the jackpot. To be in the presence of the legendary Yvan was like winning the lottery!

Yet, Yvan made a beeline for Eugene's office, barely casting a glance her way. The receptionist's initial excitement turned to disappointment. It seemed the tales of the unapproachable CEO were true after all!

...

Yvan entered just as Eugene, lounging on a sofa, turned with a sly grin, "Here for our latest commercial's leading lady, are you?"

That "too" caught Yvan off guard, his voice growing low, "Who else?"

"Adrian." Eugene, unaware of their strife, casually dropped the name. "He barged in with the same expression you're wearing now."

Straightening up, Yvan realized Adrian was onto something as well...

"If you're here for her contact, I'm afraid I can't help," Eugene was firm, "Having her for the shoot was an honor. Revealing her whereabouts would disrupt her life."

In other words, not even the bonds of old friendship would sway Eugene to divulge her details.

Yvan clenched his fists. It wasn't that he couldn't find out where Matilda was; he knew appearing before her again would only be met with cold indifference. Yet, any tidbit about her, even just being near, seemed worth the effort.

"How is she, lately?"
