A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 410

The little boy stood there, seemingly reluctant to accept anything from Yvan. He pursed his lips and after a long while, spoke softly, "Let's just let everyone go home."

Yvan stared at Logan's face, completely taken aback by Logan's decision. He thought that with enough sincerity and by making up for everything that was lacking in their lives, he could at least earn some forgiveness.

But no.

Logan refused his reparations, and it seemed like every step Yvan took towards them, they took two steps back.

The air was thick with tension.

Still, Logan stood his ground. He didn't need Yvan to do anything to win their favor; having Matilda by his side was enough.

Eventually, Carl, feeling a bit sorry for the situation, stepped forward to mediate, "Young sir, Mr. Boyd means no harm. Think of it as having two birthdays this year. He'll help you celebrate this one, and then you can have another celebration with your mom, how about that?"

Carl had lowered his stance significantly with this suggestion. Logan looked at him and softly agreed, "Okay..."

He grabbed Matilda's hand, smiled at her, and said, "Mom, don't forget to buy me another birthday cake later, okay?"

Matilda pinched his nose in response, "Of course, honey. I promise."

After a bit of persuasion, Logan finally followed the staff into a luxurious private room. Yvan had spared no expense or effort in choosing the venue. The staff, dressed in outfits reminiscent of European royalty for Logan's birthday, and the room, decked out like a grand castle, was filled with presents wrapped in silk ribbons. Christmas trees and sparkling lights adorned the corners.
