A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 448

"No one's lining up to have kids with you, pal. Forget it," Hala chuckled from the sidelines. "Besides, you think any kid of yours could be as charming as Yvan?"

Yoshi looked deflated at the comment.

"Let's just enjoy the birthday party, why bring up Yvan!" Luna clicked her tongue in disapproval. "Come on, everyone inside. I didn't invite Yvan, and if he dares show up, my brother will kick him out so fast!"

They all rallied around Matilda like she was the crown jewel, ready to defend her at all costs. Any man who had ever wronged her was on their blacklist, no exceptions.

As they entered, Matilda indeed spotted many familiar faces from high society. After all, Luna was a Layton, a name that carried its weight in gold. Despite the family's discretion, their circle was inevitably dotted with socialites, including a few of Yvan's close buddies.

"Look, there's Matilda."

Keaton squinted from a distance, elbowing his older brother, "Am I seeing things?"

Chase nearly spat out his orange juice. "What a small world! To think we'd bump into her here."

Luna's birthday had drawn their father and, by extension, some of the old guard of their generation, adding to the high-profile guest list. Among them was Adrian's father, whom they had encountered at a conference once before.

Engrossed in conversation with his peers, Adrian's father still had that sharp, unforgiving gaze, immediately spotting Matilda in the crowd.

"See that? My son was courting that lady not too long ago," he mentioned.

Cyprian's father gave a sly, cool chuckle. "Sorry to burst your bubble, but she just got out of my son's car."
