A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 545

Logan watched and couldn't help but chuckle, prompting Keaton to ruffle his hair, "You're a tough one, aren't you? I like that about you."

Catching a glimpse of Mr. Boyd, Logan noticed the pained expression he was trying to hide and asked softly, "Mr. Boyd, are you in pain?"

Yvan's figure stiffened, seemingly shocked that Logan would show concern for him, and after a pause, he responded dryly, "It's nothing..."

How could the communication between father and son be so barren?

The room fell into silence afterward, with Matilda seemingly ignoring Yvan throughout. Perhaps she blamed him for driving too fast, which resulted in injuries to all three of them, not considering the true reason behind it.

...

After spending a week in the hospital, Logan was ready to be discharged following his check-up, while Yvan remained bedridden. On the day Logan was packing up, Yvan handed him a USB drive.

"These are some coding projects I was working on but never finished. You can take them, finish the projects for me."

Yvan managed a rare smile, though it was faint, feeling somehow closer to Logan during this time, "Make sure you stay safe at home. If you run into any trouble you can't handle, remember to come to me."

"I know I might not be considered family, but when it comes to dealing with the Jungle Union, I'm the only one who can ensure your safety."

"Alright."

Logan replied dryly, taking the USB drive as if it weighed a ton.

Before they could process the moment, the door to the room burst open. Logan and Yvan turned sharply, startling Matilda from her nap. Opal then appeared at the doorway, with Rachel wheeling in behind her.
