A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 600

Matilda shook her head, a wry smile tugging at her lips. "Come on, we probably wouldn't exchange more than a word in half a day."

Logan was visibly agitated, his voice taking on an urgent tone. "Orson's not an option!"

The group looked at him, puzzled. "Why's that?"

"It's... it's nothing!" Logan, worried Matilda might get upset, kept the real reason to himself. "Just trust me on this. Plus, he's as exciting as watching paint dry. My mom would be bored to tears with him around."

Matilda studied Logan's anxious expression, her brows knitting together. "You're hiding something, aren't you?"

Logan's heart skipped a beat as he waved his hands dismissively at his mom, "No, no, of course not!"

Matilda couldn't help but feel that Logan had been keeping secrets lately. She wondered if it was just a phase, him growing up, or if she was overthinking things.

Two days later, word spread that Hadrian had woken up. Logan was just hanging up the phone when R7CKY called him from below his apartment building. "Hey, kid!"

"Hey, Master!" R7CKY greeted with a smile. "Seems like you've shot up again. You kids grow like weeds."

"Growing's good. Means I can look out for my mom."

Logan grinned and nodded towards the street. "Heard the news. Let's roll."

"Sure thing."
