Keaton chuckled as he ruffled Logan's hair, "Matilda's had her share of tough times, but with you by her side, at least she wasn't all alone."
That little boy was heaven-sent for Matilda. Whenever life seemed unbearable, Logan was like a beam of sunlight, unwaveringly illuminating the path ahead for Matilda.
In protecting Logan, Matilda found herself protected too.

Two days later, R7CKY blinked his eyes open to find Lance and Ventus sitting beside him, their expressions serious.
R7CKY jumped, "What... You guys had a party without me?"
Lance rolled his eyes, his white hair gleaming under the morning sun, making him look almost ethereal. He smirked, a stark contrast to Ventus' icy demeanor, "Pride, looks like I've saved your life again."
Lance lived life on his own terms, envied by many. Saving lives was more of a hobby, driven purely by whim. Yet, his only regret was not saving Greed in that deadly skirmish years ago.
R7CKY managed a smile, "How long was I out?"
"Two days," Ventus replied, his voice cool and detached.
"Damn," R7CKY cursed, "I could've slept into 2019 at this rate."
Lance burst into laughter, "You're still as unreliable as ever."
R7CKY mimicked Lance's eye-rolling, "And you still look like a teenager with that premature white hair, aging you before your time."
Nothing irked Lance more than comments about his looks. He lunged to throttle R7CKY, "Dare say I look old? I'm second to none in beauty!"
