AUTHOR'S POV

“ What do you want for Dinner, Dear Wife? Remember you left me in charge of taking care of the house and you. ” Silas chirped like a teenager as Sara's hand reached up to rub her temples.

“ Did you really just call me to ask such a stupid question? ” She breathed out and bit her lip to stop the grin that threatened to break out on her lips.

“ Then do you think I called you to profess my undying love to Mrs Sara Alexander? ” His tone changed suddenly as he purred, causing Sara's heart to miss several beats.

“ You-You... ” She didn't know what to say to this idiot who always knew how to make her go speechless.

“ Yes. Speak further dear wife. Why are you stuck at You? ” He teased and Sara heard him laughing through the speaker.

“ Don't call me again! ” She hissed and hanged up on the call.

How embarassing! She facepalmed herself and sighed out.

What was she supposed to do when he was hellbound on tempting her to feel for him? She took in a sharp breath and shook her head to herself.

She was not supposed to be so friendly and lenient with the man who married her just for the power her family brought to him.

She placed the phone in her handbag and glanced at her reflection in the mirror. She looked better. Even the flashbacks and halucinations were gone.

What was it about Silas Alexander? She was forced to think about this question once more.

Picking up her bag, she marched out of the restroom. She had to meet the chairman of Alexander Construction which was just a small business of the Alexanders.

Why her? She had to ask this question to him.

Sara was standing in the lift with Liam and another representative of the Alexander Constructions. She had reached here ten minutes before and the man Mr Daniels was already waiting for her and Liam.

Now, he was taking them to the top floor of this skyscraper where the chairman's office was.

Sara had a strange feeling about this whole setting. She didn't know what this feeling was at all.

When the doors of the lift dinged open, Sara stepped out behind Mr Daniels and followed him staying a step behind.

Her eyes were fixed at his back, not taking in her surroundings. She was not some five years old who was used to be mesmerized by everything around her.

Liam followed behind her silently. Earlier, Liam had behaved very weird. He seemed scared but Sara didn't know why. When he saw her, he looked like he had seen a ghost walking around. Sara took it as his surprise after seeing her back to the Lexington Corporation.

Mr Daniel's suddenly stopped in front of a black door and turned to face Sara and Liam. His eyes scanned over both of them, making Sara's nerves tick.

“ Mr. Chairman asked me to let only Ms Sara inside. ” He deadpanned in a low tone and Sara's muscles stiffened up.
