AUTHOR’S POV
“ I think I love you for no apparent reason. ” Sara whispered to Silas who was still feeling dumbfounded.
He wondered if he had started hearing things. He was in the phase of shock which passed quickly and he entered the phase of denial in a mere moment.
Sara blinked her eyes rapidly, the realization dawning upon her. She said that out aloud, right? She flinched internally and her cheeks started to heat up.
“ What? ” Silas sat up, his eyes fixed at her red face.
“ I mean… I mean I think I love you but I don’t know what loving someone feels like so I am not sure if I love you or not. I am not sure if it is really love or not. ” Sara didn’t know what she was talking about anymore. Her heartbeat was drumming in her ears, sweat beginning to coat her nape.
Silas’s eyebrows pulled together to form a frown. What was she trying to say? He was having a hard time understanding this when he didn’t even want to understand anything.
She said she loved him. She really said this in all her senses.
Her words echoed in his mind and his eyes slowly went wide, his heart running a marathon of it’s own.
She loved him? She really did? So his love was not one – sided anymore? The ecstasy mixed with disbelief made him want to jump up and dance around the room.
Sometimes, you just walk and walk and walk without a destination but then a stop comes and you feel like home again…It felt like Silas’s home had came and he could stop this tireless walk now.
A smile appeared on his face, a wholesome feeling engulfing his heart while Sara nervously fidgeted with her fingers wondering what he might be thinking.
Without saying a word, he leaned in and planted a chaste kiss on her forehead, making her sigh.
He looked happy…Was this a good sign? Sara wondered as she closed her eyes, feeling the lingering touch of his lips on her forehead.
She had never confessed her love for any living being before, not even for her parents and she didn’t really know how to do it in the right way if there was even a right way to begin with.
“ You need time to sort out your own feelings. That’s what you want to say, right? ” Silas placed his forehead against hers and whispered, the smile still plastered over his lips.
“ I – I am sorry for being so emotionally stupid, Silas. ” Sara sighed out and her shoulders slumped down.
“ It’s okay. ” Silas’s smile turned into a cheeky grin as he opened his eyes to take a look at her bright red cheeks.
It must have been so hard for her to push her ego aside and confess her feelings. He had often imagined the scenarios of getting a love confession from her, but he had never imagined something so sudden like this.
Even if she needed a lifetime now to clear her doubts about those feelings, he could wait for her patiently, because he knew she loved him somehow.
“ You should sleep now. You have to go to office tomorrow. ” Silas suggested in a light tone and pulled away from her, before laying down on the bed and patting the spot beside him.
Sara heaved a heavy breath and laid down beside him. She was embarrassed, but she didn’t regret being honest to him.
She thought she loved him, but she had never loved anyone before so it might take some time for her to be sure about her own feelings. She hated that Silas had to wait for her to confess honestly again, but she didn’t want to lie to him anymore.
She had taken a step forward in their relationship by being as honest as she could with him and she hoped this led to something good.
