His Charming Smile novel Chapter 3

Daphne did not waste any time but quickly opened her car trunk and grabbed her white coat. In one swift motion, she got out of the car and put on the coat. Then, she ran to the car trunk to retrieve her first aid kit before running to the scene.

Though she was an obstetriciangynecologist, she had also worked in the emergency department so she knew very clearly that they were pressed for time in saving the wounded.-

Since she was near the scene of the traffic accident, she must get there as quickly as she could.

One of the cars involved in the accident had its entire front dented. Its driver was stuck between the steering wheel and his seat, so Daphne could only do a preliminary evaluation of his injuries. She quickly did so and made a report, but other than that the driver had to wait for the firefighters to get him out.

Daphne noticed a cry of pain from a cab behind the car.

There was no one in the driver's seat, but a pregnant woman was sitting in the backseat.

"What's going on? How do you feel?" Daphne opened the door to check on the woman and comforted her softly, "Don't worry, I'm a doctor."

"It hurts. My tummy hurts a lot... Ah..."

The woman was wearing a mask, so Daphne couldn't see her expression clearly. However, she could see droplets of sweat falling from her forehead, seemingly due to the extreme pain she was going through.

Daphne noticed that her medical records were on the seat next to her. She picked it up and frowned as she scanned it.

"Don't worry, I'll help you." She tried to console the woman again and quickly dialed a phone number. With her eyes on the medical records, she said quickly, "There is a thirty-six-year-old woman who's nine months pregnant at the scene of the traffic accident. She presents signs of hemorrhage. Immediately prepare for a C-section, and quickly get some Rhesus- negative type 0 blood ready for transfusion. She will be sent to the hospital within fifteen minutes."

The fire and rescue team and paramedics arrived the moment she finished her words.

They worked together to transfer the pregnant woman onto the ambulance, and Daphne left the remaining first aid at the scene to the paramedics, who had just arrived, to get onto the ambulance.

15 minutes passed quickly.
