His Plump Mate (by Buchanan) novel Chapter 406

Aiden POV

Every day, I see the prophecy unfolding before us. A war is coming. Julian is involved, Ironclaw is giving us a hard time. We need a tool and it’s likely with an alpha that is mated to a woman whose mother I killed. Regardless, if I was within my rights, I know that she is going to remain bitter and whisper doubt in Heath’s ear. He isn’t much of an Alpha in the sense that he is easily manipulated. This brings a problem to me, because he can jump either way. I’m not comfortable with that instability.

Our daughters are hybrids. They like shifting so they can talk to Thalia and me. Which I have to admit, so adorable as hell. They are babies and so young, and Thalia is still not strong enough to get back to training. Not that I didn’t enjoy every moment with her in my office yesterday. I saw the lust and desire in her eyes, and it made me happy as fuck that she was like that over me and no one else.

All that being said. I am terrified that something is going to happen to her. I don’t want to lose her. I can’t lose her. I am too in love with her to let anything happen to her and yet, she is the key to ending this war. There are several things pending and over the next two years or less we have to resolve them.

First, merging with Ironclaw. I have no fucking idea how we are going to get that done. Paul is a fucking prick and isn’t cooperating. Max is even trying to reason with him, but the guy just wants to be an ass. Second, we need to figure out all the people who are going to be brought to us to help. If anyone gets wind of that part of the prophecy, then it could bring a lot of bad actors. Third, we have to train and learn all we can about taking down shadow maws before this war, so we know how to properly fight against Julian. Last, the fucking tool. The tool that we have no idea how it works, what it looks like, who truly has it, and why we need it.

I suspect it’s in Golden Frost, but what if that is a bad actor thing too? I have never felt so cautious in my life. I’ve never second guessed myself this much either and that is very dangerous. I cannot lead if I can’t think clearly or have a heading to follow. I have neither at the moment.

“Aiden, Goddess, your brain is working overtime. Relax.” Thalia said looking at me. “Moon Goddess is going to provide information along the way. If it’s a bad idea, I’m sure she is going to warn us. Please try not to worry.”

“I can’t help it. You, our daughters…you’re my entire world. You know that. I can’t bear the idea of something, or someone trying to take you or hurt you.” I said.

“Listen, we leave tomorrow for Obscure Maw. The only thing we can do is prepare and go with what makes sense. I do understand bad actors though. That will need to be figured out. Maybe your mom can help us. She knows when people are lying, right?” She said.

My mate, being the calm and incredibly levelheaded person, she is just reminded me about my mom. “You’re right. I want to talk to mom today about it then. She won’t have an issue, but I just want to give her the heads up.”

“See? One problem resolved.” She said and climbed on top of me, “Now you have another pressing issue to handle, Papi.”

I know my eyes darkened, because everything about me turned from worry to desire really quick. I grabbed my gorgeous as fuck mate and flipped her on her back and crashed my lips to hers and had my way with her for the next couple of hours.
