Chapter 45 Want a New Dad

The car came to a halt, rousing Amelia from her half-slumber.

Groggily, she lifted her head, and there, mere inches away, was Benjamin’s strikingly handsome visage.

His looks were simply captivating.

In her dazed state, Amelia blurted out, “Gosh, you’re so good-looking!”

Having been in the entertainment industry, she’d encountered numerous male celebrities hailed as heartthrobs.

Yet, even those with full-fledged makeup paled in comparison to Benjamin’s natural charm.

Amelia was a real beauty-lover.

After mumbling that compliment, she instinctively reached out to touch his face.

But the moment her fingertips grazed his skin, she snapped back to reality.

Eyes wide in shock, she yanked her hand back as if stung, her face flushing bright red. “Sorry, I was out of it. Didn’t mean to bug you.” She apologized in a rush.

Without a word, Benjamin got out of the car, cradling Nina in his arms.

Nina, who hadn’t eaten properly since being kidnapped, was famished.

She woke up shortly after they reached home.

Usually a bit of a diva when waking up, this time, the sight of home made her forget all about her grumpiness.

Slipping out of Benjamin’s embrace, her chubby feet barely touching the ground, she piped up in her adorable baby voice, “Nina home! Nina hungry!”

The maid, Amber Stone, who’d been expecting their return, was already up.

She said excitedly, “Nina, honey! So glad you’re back. I’ve got some yummy soup and all your favorite dishes. You just sit tight, and I’ll bring them right over!”

Nina chirped, “Okay. Thank you!”

Then she scurried over to her high-chair and clambered up by herself.

Amelia, seeing her eagerness, fetched a wet towel and gently wiped Nina’s hands and face,

Benjamin joined them for the meal and ate with gusto.

Amelia, while tending to Nina, mused silently.

So, this tycoon doesn’t have the stomach issues typical of those in novels.

Due to her career requirements to maintain a certain figure, Amelia ate sparingly.

Benjamin noticed her meager portion and frowned ever so slightly.

After a few bites, Amelia excused herself to have her wound treated by the doctor.

This left Nina and Benjamin alone at the table, each engrossed in their own meal in silence.

Once full, Nina climbed down from the high-chair and started to head toward where she thought her mom

was.

After a couple of steps, she stopped, turned around, and looked at Benjamin. “Nina no sleep you!”

Benjamin was taken aback.

He hadn’t even considered sharing a bed with this little one, fearing he might accidentally squash her.

Not getting a response, Nina repeated, louder this time. “Nina no sleep you!”

Benjamin was at a loss, failing to catch what she was trying to convey. After a short pause, he just nodded and went with a simple “Yeah.”

Nina, on the other hand, had been eager to offer her “bad daddy” another shot.

All it needed was a bit of soothing from him, and she’d be right back to snuggling with him like the old days.

Yet, it was obvious that the “out” she’d given him was completely ignored.

Humiliated and fuming, Nina stomped her chubby feet on the floor, her hands tucked behind her back, and made a beeline for her mom to tattle on her dad..

“Mommy! Daddy bad!” Her shrill little voice carried clearly, and Benjamin caught every word.

Nina just had a knack for throwing the blame on him, and she didn’t even bother to do it discreetly.

Benjamin had intended to head to his room, but the sound of Nina’s complaint made him change course and follow her.

Inside the room, Amelia had already had her wound tended to.

She’d quickly freshened up and slipped into a comfy, cream-colored cotton dress fit for a night in.

At that moment, she was hunched over, looking for Nina’s bath clothes.

Benjamin halted at the doorway, his eyes fixed on Amelia.
