Shane believed one thing–if throwing money at a problem could fix it, then it wasn’t really a problem.

Sensing his willingness, the middle–aged woman wasted no time laying it on thick. “My husband supports our entire family. You’ve hurt him; he can no longer work or earn an income. 50,000 is reasonable to cover his medical expenses, lost earnings, and recovery expenses. Pay us that, and we’ll call it a day. No trouble now or later.”

Her audacity was staggering.
