Sara did not know what to do anymore. She sat in the back seat of her car as they drove back to their company.

She had not talked to the Chairman about the deal at all and now her head was pounding with the thoughts about Grandfather Magnus' extreme reactions...

The insults would start from the word ' Stupid ' and those insults would end at the word ' Useless '.

Sara hated both words.

“ You really didn't talk to him about the deal Ma'am?! ” Liam groaned out for the nth time not believing that she, Sara, just ran out of there and straight down, until she was out of the building without doing what she was sent to do.

She had never failed Grandfather Magnus before. Never.

But from the time Silas came into her life, she had been failing and failing in everything.

' You just want to throw the blame on him ' Her mind yelled at her as she raised her hand to rub her temples.

She was so tired.

As the driver stopped the car outside the headquarters, she got down followed by Liam and entered inside the building.

She could deal with Grandfather Magnus. She had to deal with him and assure him that she would go and talk to the chairman of Alexander Co. soon.

She tried to reassure herself by this peptalk but she knew, the moment Grandfather Magnus got to know that she returned without doing what he sent her to do, he was going to throw her out again.

Holding and Maintaining a position here was hard. No. It was not hard. It was a constant struggle. It was a never ending war. A war which was going to become dirty soon, because Grandfather Magnus was old now. He was supposed to hand over the company to one of the successors any day now.

Finally, Sara reached Grandfather Magnus' office. She waved her hand in the air asking Liam silently to go away. He was not needed anymore.

Raising her hand, she knocked at the office's door and waited for a moment before opening the door and stepping inside.

“ Sara! Come here. ” Grandfather Magnus called out to her as soon as she came inside and her ears perked up.

Turning around after closing the door, she found half of her sweet but not-so-sweet family seated on the guest spots.

Wow. What a lovely sight.

A bitter smile almost broke out on her lips but she held it back.

She looked from the right to left seeing everyone.

Camelia. Rowan. Ryan. Maria.

All eyes were glaring at her except Grandfather Magnus' and Rowan's eyes. They were just staring at her.

Okay. Perhaps, something was wrong here. She thought and took a step forward.

“ You didn't disappoint me contrary to my expectation. ” Grandfather Magnus leaned back in his chair, his eyes trying to look past her expressionless face.

“ I don't understand Grandfather. ” Sara shook her head, shifting her bag from her right hand to her left one uncomfortably.

She was trying her best to avoid all these glaring eyes but it was difficult.

“ You successfully got the Alexanders to sign the contract. ” Grandfather Magnus narrowed down his eyes trying to understand why Sara looked so surprised the moment he revealed the good news to her.

Sara's mouth almost hanged low at the revelation. She got the deal signed? Well. She too did not about know that.

She never even got to talk to him about the deal and now Grandfather Magnus was saying that the deal was already signed...

“ I did. I mean I did. ” Lying efficiently, Sara made sure to maintain eye-contact with everyone in the room one by one.

“ I doubted you will be able to do it but you did so you have your position back. ” Grandfather Magnus spoke with disdain clear in his tone.

A wide smile appeared on Sara's lips. If she was coming back, she still stood a chance so nothing else mattered.

“ Thank you Grandfather. I won't disappoint you again. ” Sara breathed out, the smile never leaving her lips.

Just a little longer. She had to do all of this sweet-talking for just a little longer. Until Lexington group of companies belonged to her.
