AUTHOR’S POV
Shit.
She cursed at herself as she picked up the pregnancy test kit from the pharmacy like a thief. Her eyes moved around her to see if someone was watching her. Finding no one recognizing her or looking toward her, she hurriedly picked up the kit and threw it in the basket. The baseball cap she wore over her head helped her keep her identity hidden.
What was she even doing? She hissed internally, walking toward the payment counter.
She was sure that she was not pregnant, but she was not sure that she was not pregnant at the same time.
That Ungrateful Bitch Silas was not in the mood of waking up either. It’s been a whole day.
Freaking. One. Day.
He still didn’t wake up. Grandfather Albert had disappeared yesterday and he was still nowhere to be seen.
She was all alone stuck in a bloody hospital. She stopped in front of that damn poster every single time she passed by. She had a fight with the staff yesterday as she asked them why they had left this poster hanged on the fucking hallway like it’s nothing when it’s causing her anxiety every time she passed by there.
In result of her outburst, they removed the poster but guess what? She saw another one on the way.
So, she decided to be sure that she was not pregnant. Just a little test and she would be at ease and then she was going to kick Silas’s ass!
“ You said you were going to the restroom, Ma’am. ” The bloody guard appeared out of thin air and spoke from just behind her, causing her to jump up.
She had placed the kit on the counter just now, so she sneakily placed her arm over it to hide it from him. She didn’t know why she was doing it. Perhaps, she didn’t want anyone to get the wrong idea, that she was pregnant.
“ I am taking a detour! ” Sara smiled nervously and turned her head back, her eyes stopping at the cashier woman who was giving her weird looks.
She pointed toward Sara’s arm in a gesture for her to pick it up so she could make the bill for her. Sara shook her head to herself.
“ Why don’t you wait outside, Jake? ” Sara turned back, her arm still hiding the kit from his eyes.
“ Sir asked me to accompany you like a shadow. ” Jake replied, fiercely.
Sara’s nose flared. Her eyes were glaring at him, furiously. She didn’t want to do this, but she was not left with any other option.
“ Well. I don’t show my tampon’s brand to even my shadow. I turn off the bathroom’s light just to be sure. ” Sara stated calmly, without blinking her eyes as Jake blinked rapidly, the tips of his ears turning red.
“ Do you want to see it? ” She asked but as a reply, Jake almost ran out without ever turning to look back.
“ That’s not tampon. ” The cashier muttered to herself, pushing Sara’s arm away.
