The Betrayed Princess Rising (Lylah and Ezra) novel Chapter 439

Chapter 439

3rd Person’s POV

Luén blinked softly at him, violet eyes luminous beneath the dim glow.

“Alpha Rowan, I don’t need any reward. You already helped me enough tonight.”

A cold wind swept through the narrow street, stirring the scent of blood and wolf through the darkness Rowan’s gaze remained fixed on her face, sharp and unreadable beneath the silver wash of moonlight.

Luén lowered her head slightly. “I don’t want to owe you a debt,” she continued quietly. “One day… I’ll repay your kindness.”

Then she stepped back.

Slowly, her figure disappeared into the drifting night mist like a phantom swallowed by the city itself.

Rowan stood still long after she vanished.

Something restless stirred beneath his ribs.

His wolf rarely paid attention to strangers. Yet tonight, instinct lingered on the trace of her scent left in the air, unwilling to let it fade.

When Rowan finally entered the underground club, one of the senior servers approached him immediately.

“Alpha Rowan.”

Rowan barely glanced at him. His mind remained trapped in the image of violet eyes beneath flickering streetlights.

“That woman,” Rowan said flatly, nodding toward the alley entrance. Does she work here?”

The server followed his gaze knowingly. “Yes, Alpha. She’s been working here for nearly two months now.” He hesitated briefly before continuing. “Tonight she only came to deliver reports. She already has another job elsewhere, but…” The man sighed. “She desperately needs money to support her father.”

Rowan’s expression hardened faintly.

“They’re not originally from Lunaris,” the server added. “Her father’s crippled. Violent too. Most of us around here know he’s unstable.”

A low growl nearly rose from Rowan’s throat before he suppressed it.

For some reason, the thought irritated him.

He told himself it was merely annoyance at weak men who preyed on their own blood.

Nothing more.

Yet even after Rowan disappeared deeper into the club, the image of Luén standing alone in that alley

refused to leave him.

Outside, across the street shrouded in fog and neon haze, the server hurried toward a dark vehicle waiting near the curb.

Luén sat inside.

The moment he approached, she lifted her gaze from the window.

“I told him exactly what you instructed,” the server said quietly.

A faint smile curved her lips. “Well done.”

She handed him a heavy pouch filled with gold coins.

“Continue watching him,” Luén instructed. “And inform me every time Rowan Blackfang visits the club.”

The server nodded quickly before disappearing into the night.

Silence returned.

Luén leaned back against the leather seat, satisfaction flickering across her beautiful face.

Everything was unfolding exactly as she expected.

Cora’s hold over Rowan had already begun to rot from within.

And history…

History was repeating itself once again.

In her previous life, Luén had watched everything unfold from the shadows. When Cora, or Carmen, had loved both Rowan and Ezrael.

But neither male had ever truly loved her back.

And now fate was dragging them toward the same destruction all over again.

This time, she would not stand powerless beneath destiny’s cruelty.

This time, she intended to survive.

At Lunar Grace, the night air carried the sharp chill of approaching dawn.

A bus waited near the academy gates while volunteers loaded supplies beneath glowing streetlamps.

Lylah stood near the entrance with Ezra beside her.

“Call me once you arrive in Lunera Valley,” the Alpha said, his deep voice low enough that only she could

hear.

Lylah smiled faintly.
